Wedding cake designs
The latest collection of designs can be viewed in our showroom at the bakery. Here you will find many ideas to whet your appetite, whether you are looking for a traditional royal iced design, classic elegance with delicate sugar flowers, contemporary lines or something elaborate and flamboyant. Decadent Belgian chocolate cakes with handmade truffles, retro cupcake towers and quirky novelty ideas with marzipan modelled figurines are a speciality. Most designs can be customised to suit your requirements or you may prefer to commission an original bespoke creation. With a little imagination and our expertise we can create a stunning centrepiece for your special day.
Recipes, fillings and liqueurs
The taste of the cake is as important to us as the look. A “tasting” appointment can be arranged to help decide which flavours are the best choice for you. All cakes are baked on the premises by master bakers using traditional methods and premium ingredients. Our traditional fruit cake is made to an award-winning family recipe and is laced with lashings of spirit to moisten and mature. Choose from sherry, brandy, cointreau or amaretto. For today’s more cosmopolitan palate we can also offer a choice of sponge cakes. Madeira cake can be layered with lemon buttercream and a dash of Limóncello liqueur, or we can add raspberry conserve, framboise liqueur and vanilla buttercream. Our rich chocolate Genoese is sandwiched with melt-in-the-mouth ganache made with Belgian chocolate and double cream, add a tot of tia maria. Alternatively try our spiced carrot cake with apple, sultanas and cinnamon, laced with cointreau and white chocolate frosting. Introducing a recipe from America, Red Velvet is made with cocoa and buttermilk. Its red colouring makes it a favourite with romantics. Perfect layered with our vanilla frosting
